Bad Business Ethics: Benitez or Liverpool?
Time and again we have seen how clubs dispute over transfer fees, illegal player approach and unsettling players through the media. Now, we all know how Real Madrid and Barcelona has been stalking Arsenal players and trying to unsettle them through the media. That is really unethical, what they should have done is to contact the club first. But instead the media has become their agent to contact the player’s club publicly by announcing who they want to buy or interested in.
Liverpool’s manager, Rafa Benitez has recently been criticised by Martin O’Neill for openly declaring that there is a mutual agreement that the Gareth Barry deal is done while there were no truth to it. That causes uproar by Martin O’Neill because the transfer season has not even began and they still have 2 important games to play. And then, Benitez again said it’s bad that your captain and best player wants to leave, but face it... that is football.
Is this just Benitez or Liverpool? Remember the manner how Liverpool bought Harry Kewell from Leeds United?
